Default Coaching Psychology Subject Benchmarks and Supervision Guidelines Consultation

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE BRITISH PSYCHOLOGICAL SOCIETY

The Professional Practice and Research Sub-Committee of the British Psychological Society have produced two substantial and significant discussion papers for consultation. These are the Subject Benchmarks and Supervision Guidelines for Coaching Psychology. Both papers are available free of charge for download via the SGCP website www.bps.org.uk/coachingpsy

Two surveys have also been developed to support the consultation process. So if you are a member of the British Psychological Society or any other psychological Societies or Associations internationally and would like to part in a consultative process to establish Coaching Psychology Subject Benchmarks and Supervision Guidelines please contact sgcpppr@bps.org.uk

The Subject Benchmarks document in particular will form the foundation of any future accreditation processes for Coaching Psychology within the British Psychological Society.

It is hoped that members and the international psychological community will support the British Psychological Society by sharing views either via the surveys and/or in person at First International Coaching Psychology Conference on the 18th of December 2006.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Julia Shorter, Conference Assistant Press Officer, Tel: 07747 634486, e-mail sgcpcom@bps.org.uk
